Hi! I’m Jess, a long time baker and home cook. I’m originally from the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and you’ll often hear me wax on about the food, the sites, and even the weather there. Probably because I’ve been away long enough to forget exactly what it’s like to live with seven months of straight rain. As much as I love Seattle, there are too many exciting places in this world to commit to just one. So far, I’ve lived in Russia, Macedonia, Kazakstan, Croatia, and Kosovo! Currently, I am enjoying living in Washington D.C. My travels have taken me through most of Europe, China, Mongolia, Bolivia, Mexico, India, Israel, and the Caucasus, but there is so much left to explore!
Being based overseas allows lots of opportunities for travel, and I’d be lying if I said local cuisine didn’t influence my itinerary. There’s nothing I enjoy more than a unique (and well stocked!) produce market! Sometimes I take a local cooking class, and other times I try to recreate regional dishes when I return home. By far my favorite place to travel–and eat–is along the Mediterranean! Nothing beats a fresh fig!
I hope you’ll join me as I explore the world and try out new recipes!
